Medica Travel - an alternative to English health care?
We do not want to compete with English health care. English health care is good. English health care is on the front edge when it comes to knowledge and quality. But England's health care has its limits. Higher cost of dentist care, lack of doctors, lack of resources and budget savings results long patient queues. When the English health care is not enough, we want to offer you an alternative.

Is it safe to use Polish health care?
There is still refusal to accept Polish health care and there exists many myths about the health care in old eastern countries. They use worn out equipment which some foreign hospitals have donated and old medicines with early expire date, worn out equipment, crowded old and worn out hospitals. This was true. The hospitals in the former Eastern Europe were needed to be improved. But their medical knowledge has always been on the front edge comparing to rest of Europe. English health care has longer period recruited doctors, dentists from Poland. The public health care has improved in Poland, but there are big differences between private health care and public health care. Private health care has always used the latest technique and participated in foreign medical conferences, etc. The Polish people have long time have access to exclusive and fast health care, as long they have the money.

The private health care offer fast and exclusive care
Normally you can have treatment directly. At longest you have to wait three weeks. I was surprised that an x-ray takes shorter time to perform than to take a passport photo in England and I counted the time to announce myself at the reception, go to the responsible radiologist, get the x-ray and go out from the hospital and all this for £4. Another example is a private family doctor that comes for normal flu to your hotel room a holiday at 9 PM, prescribes penicillin and all for £16. I had to wait 30 minutes for the doctor. Another example is if I am booked for operation at any private hospital, I can have my own room, nurse, cable TV, Internet connection and writing desk.

Can I use my English language?
Yes, to be understood, you do not have to know Polish. It's enough with your English.

What if something goes wrong?
There are always risks in all hospital care and an error will eventually happen. We at Medica Travel will help you in these situations.

We look at following: The competence should be at least good as in England. The clinics should use well- known methods and materials. The Doctors should talk good English and it should be possible to achieve an English translator, if necessary. The doctors should be recommended by locals where the doctors are active. Good warranties for work and materials (concerning dentists). The doctor should have all necessary patient insurance. Doctors should also have experience treating foreign patients. When you use Medica Travel, you should always feel safe to get the best health care.
