REMOVING ACNE SKIN CHANGES WITH ClearLight SYSTEM

Acne is a common skin problem; it touches almost 80% of young people. It usually starts at early pubescence, with hormonal changes, but still about 8% of patients suffer from acne in their twenties. A mild kind of acne can persist for a few years, or even for 12 to 15 years. 7% of adult people can struggle with acne until their late age. In most cases acne occurs in its less moderately intense version.

Acne can occurs with:

	Seborrhea
	Not-inflammable changes like micromedo (invisible changes), closed blackheads and opened whiteheads
	Inflammable changes - surface papules and pustules and deep nodules and cysts
	Keloids, after-inflammable discolored places

Acne is an effect of multiplied problems, mainly hormonal, and usually results with four basic mechanisms:

	Increased oil production - sebum in sebaceous glands
	Abnormal - excessive callosity of entries and channels of sebaceous glands
	Colonization - bacteria over-multiplication (Propionibacterium acnes mainly)
	Process of inflammability in closed sebaceous glands

Modern medicine offers capacity of therapy methods. And because reasons and mechanisms of the sickness are not heterogeneous, their treatment must be adapted to individual needs and patient's reactions. Acne treatment, despite its intensification, must take a long time. Regular treatment sessions and discussing every doubt with a doctor is essential element of success. You should remember that every treatment is accompanied with side effects that slow down the expected effects and sometimes result with a change of treatment method.

For the first time in Poland, the latest APC method (acne photo-clearing) with ClearLight system proposed by Epi-Center is based on an observation where germicidal sun light causes skin improvement in most acne cases. A lamp emits blue light of 405 to 420 nanometer waves. That light works like germicidal ultraviolet radiance, but does not bring any negative effects to the skin. The light destroys quickly the multiplying bacteria, which are responsible for inflammable changes in acne (it works like antibiotics, if applied locally or generally, may result in a set of unwanted symptoms.) Research conducted in many medical centers proved ClearLight is three times more effective than the traditional methods (visible improvement in 60% to 80% after multiple light sessions in four weeks.) There are spectacular effects in using that method in treatment of acne with nodules and cysts. It has also been noticed that about 20% of patients do not experience any unwanted reactions to the treatment.

We do not apply APC treatment if:

	a patient has a sickness combined with sensitiveness to light
	a patient takes medicines that effect with sensitiveness to light
	a patient is pregnant

Light treatment sessions do not originate any side effects, do not affect in a negative way the skin or the patient's life. The effect of therapy may be supported with other treatment methods. Standard therapy includes eight light sessions lasting for 10 to 15 minutes and breaks between consequent sessions taking 2 or 3 days. After two or three first treatments the skin condition can decrease. You can see noticeable effects at the end of the therapy, and it will still take effect long after. Because antibacterial treatment is only a part of the whole therapy, patient has to stay under medical control and act according to the doctor's prescriptions. If that is necessary, a patient has to immediately apply unavoidable treatment against the intensification of the changes.

Quickly applied and properly conducted, the therapy of acne changes results not only in the skin condition improvement and protects from generating scares, but also helps to prevent mental problems that may occur during adolescence.
