Photo rejuvenation is a unique procedure, which makes skin younger with impulse light source (IPL) and does not affect the patient's lifestyle. There are several methods of skin damage estimation. The simplest one we use defines common internal and external types of skin ageing. The A group contains colour spots, freckles and vessel changes, blush and extending vessels, being the effect of light damage and illness, e.g. acne. The B group contains structural changes of skin and epidermis, like wrinkles, widen pores and changes of skin elasticity, described as red and wrinkled skin.

Some patients can have skin damage of A group and/or B group. The classification has been created to allow simple description of skin damage and proper use of adequate treatment method.
Photo rejuvenation is a dynamic noninvasive process using incoherent impulse light with low density energy to rejuvenate the face, neck and hands skin.

Therapy includes five consecutive sessions, performed every 3 to 6 weeks. The treatment applies to the entire face area.

To obtain homogenous aesthetic effect, skin is treated with light twice during one session. Patient should feel satisfaction with their looks and be able to go back to their usual activities right after treatment.

You cannot have this treatment if

	You have tan, or you plan to get it
	Are of dark skin type
	Are sensitive to light
	Take medicines that make you sensitive to light
	Are pregnant
	Have problems with blood coagulation or take medicines that effects that way
	Have unreal expectations

After treatment your skin can be reddish (it passes by after 3 days), a bit swallowed (it passes during 24 hours) and freckles or spots can get darker (it passes in a week time).

Other reactions usually do not manifest themselves:

	Bruise, which passes after 7 to 10 days
	Blisters
	Face swallowing, which passes in 3 to 4 days time, and leaves with no sign
	Skin coloration and discolouration can happen only if a patient does not follow doctor's instructions.

After treatment:

	If there is blush, you can cover it with make up
	You should moisturize your skin,
	You should definitely avoid sun
	You should apply cream with high UVA filters
	Apply mixtures recommended by a doctor and proper to your skin type that strengthen treatment effect.

The patient should come for a control visit, and a possible treatment can take place in about 3 to 6 weeks. When the treatment set is over, the patient should come again after another four weeks. Then we can estimate the effectiveness of the therapy. Sometimes patients, especially those with large vessel changes, may need another treatment. Improvement of the skin looks takes place continuously after treatment sessions. It happens because the IPL lightening generates and directs processes in the lightened skin. The effects remain for years, but vessel changes can reveal after some time, and photo ageing is a constant process. That is why we can only slow it down and never reverse. That is the reason why you should repeat photo rejuvenation treatments later.
