Visual nerve

Visual nerve - the
visual nerve is in reality not nerve but as the retina an outgrowth from
the brain. The visual nerve leaves the retina there are no visual cells
and this point is therefor called papilla The visual nerve is approximately
4.5 cm long and is covered with the brain's membrane. The visual nerves
are crossing before they reach the brain, so information from the right
and left eye is mixing and reach both cerebral hemispheres. It's the visual
nerve that is damage when glaucoma.
