| INTACS
is an alternative to correct nearsightedness between 1.0 D to 3.0 D and maximum
1 D in astigmatism. INTACS
is two small transparent ultra thin "half-moons" and is made of the
same material as lenses and intracapsular lenses. They flatten the cornea and
weaken the corneas ability to refract light. They are installed permanently, but
can be removed or changed if the vision changes. There are different thicknesses
of these "half-moons" devices depending how big the defect is. The
procedure takes about 15 minutes. The patient receives anaesthesia as eyedropper.
A small opening in the cornea is made just under the eyelid. Then tunnels are
created in the corneas means. The "half moons" devices are places in
those tunnels. The result of these methods is very good. Read
