12, 1996 Bruno Hangartner, acting on behalf of a Swiss company THEO FREY
AG with headquarters in Bern, establishes a company THEO FREY POLSKA with its
headquarters in Gdansk. The new companys proxy is Roman Walasinski.
September
22, 1997 THEO FREY POLSKA Sp. z o.o. joins in as a partner with Centrum
Medyczne Medicor, a civil partnership company owned by Maciej Chmielecki and Magdalena
Jackiewicz, with one clinic at Szeroka street in Gdansk (existing since 1995).
First half of the year 1999 The building of the companys own
clinic has been accomplished. The new institution is equipped with modern diagnostic
devices. The company establishes collaboration with several high-qualified specialists
(about 30 specialities).
Second
half of the year 1999 The companys authorities decide to build its
own hospital.
February
2000 The company purchases a building plot at Wilenska street and starts
the preparatory works connected with the investment process.
Turn
of years 2000/2001 The company opens another clinic in Gdynia, at Starowiejska
street and creates two medical institutions in Tczew.
Middle
of the year 2001 For the sake of its corporate identity strategy and the
development of institutions operating under one brand, the company changes its
name from Centrum Medyczne Medicor to Swissmed Centrum Zdrowia.
June
6, 2001 The company opens a hospital ward in a rented part of the Student
Hospital in Gdansk. The ward consists of: an operating suite, four sick rooms
with 9 beds, a 2-bed recovery room, a physicians room and a treatment room.
Beginning
of the year 2002 After having analysed the financial results of institutions
in Tczew and Gdynia, the company decides to change their legal forms. The clinic
in Gdynia has been sold to another medical company, while one of the institutions
in Tczew has been franchised, which improves its profitability.
June
26, 2002 A cornerstone is laid for the companys own, private hospital.
November
10, 2003 Swissmed signs a medical partnership collaboration agreement
with a famous American hospital network - Kettering Medical Center Network from
Dayton, the USA. The honorary witness of this event is the City Mayor of Gdansk
Pawel Adamowicz.
December
12, 2003 Swissmed Centrum Zdrowia changes its legal form from limited
liability company to joint-stock company. Roman Walasinski becomes the President
of the companys Executive Board.
January
24, 2004 We solemnly celebrate the opening of the Swissmed Hospital.
May
22, 2004 The company opens an operating suite consisting of 4 operating
theatres, an 8-bed recovery room and a 2-bed Intensive Care Unit. The hospital
is now in full use.
October 15, 2004
Swissmed makes its debut on Warsaw Stock Exchange -Swissmed stocks are being listed
on Warsaw Stock Exchange for the very first time.
March
18, 2005 Swissmed is presented the award For Recognition of Innovative
Health Care in Poland by Mr. Frank Perez -CEO of Kettering Medical Center
Network (American company - Swissmeds medical partner) and also a member
of the board of the American Hospital Association, a leading advisor to the US
administration on health care issues.
