Smile Design - a holistic approach
A dentist who is specialized on cosmetic dentistry uses a holistic approach and will consider all your natural conditions for having a beautiful smile before the work actual starts. You will need 2-4 dentist appointments, depending on your teeth's status.

How does it work?
First appointment - Consultation - first the dentist has to evaluate and document your recent teeth status. As a part of the examination the dentist has to take an x-ray and pictures of your teeth. Your dentist has also to make an impression of your teeth. A plaster model of the mouth will be produced.

During the dentist appointment you should tell all about your desires and expectations. The dentist will then decide if it's possible or not.

To have a better understanding how your new smile will look like, the dentist improves the produced plaster model. Some dentists use special computer image software instead of using plaster models. When you have made up your mind how the result should look like, you will receive a treatment plan and an estimation of costs from the dentist.

Second appointment - Preparation - According to the treatment plan the dentist removes the amalgam and replaces it with porcelain- or composite material (inlay/onlay or crown), removes tartars (scaling), repair cavities and makes gum lift if necessary. Then your teeth will be bleached with a laser (2 hour) or bleached with trays (2-3 weeks). Then your teeth will eventually be prepared for porcelain veneers, crown, bridge or implants. The dentist makes a final impression of your teeth and sends it to a dental lab.

Third appointment - colour adjustments and cementing - The dentist makes final adjustments on the new veneers/crowns/bridge and decides the colour of teeth before they are cemented into place in your mouth.

Forth appointment
- Check up - The dentist inspects if everything is ok and makes small adjustments. You can have some shooting pains or tooth ache, but it will normally disappear by itself.
